Blue Springs

Blue Springs is about a 30 minute drive from Eminence. Blue Springs has the bluest water of any spring around this area and is the sixth largest spring in Missouri. You can drive to within a 5 to 10 minute walk or park at the Powder Mill campground and walk the mile hiking trail along the river. A pit toilet is located at the Spring parking area, and although no picnic tables are nearby, Blue Spring is still a great place for a picnic.

Directions

The spring can be reached by car and canoe. By car, drive east from Eminence on 106 HWY approximately 20 minutes. At the very top of the hill after crossing the bridge over the Current river, turn right at the dirt road marked for Blue Spring. Alternately, you may turn in at Powder Mill campground, just past the Current River bridge, and walk to the spring. By canoe, the spring enters the river from river left 1 1/4 miles after passing by Powder Mill put-in.
