Learn to function together as the body of Christ
--at home and at work.

We will teach in a format that meets your goals and budget. Our suggestions:

  • 20-30 minute sermons
  • 1 to 3 hour seminars
  • 1 to 2 day conferences
  • 7 to 14 day challenge trips (they can be a river trip - for a less physically strenuous experience).


The scope can run from getting an introduction on a few of the following topics to learning and practicing in a real life situation that provides close to immediate feedback on the quality of the processes used. Obviously, the more time you have to learn and practice the principles, the quicker you will be able to apply them in your life.

Learn:

  • How to overcome the root challenge in communication
  • Why church bodies and other teams struggle until everyone knows the goal(s), plan(s), and everyone’s role(s)
  • How to develop shared and understood goals, plans, and roles
  • How to have effective meetings (Are you tired of inefficient and ineffective meetings?)
  • Why conflict is a needed part of body life and team function
  • How to treat conflicts as golden opportunities
  • Why it helps to know each other’s personality type, dominant conflict style, and love language
  • Learn each other’s personality type, dominant conflict style, and love language
  • How to lead and follow well
  • How to function as a body where each member’s strengths are used and grown to the fullest and each member’s weaknesses are covered by others

Our Credentials?

Leading 7 to 14 day wilderness challenge trips teaches our staff practical scripture applications for working as a team (what 1 Corinthians 12 refers to as a body) under challenging circumstances. In addition, instructors read books, attend trainings, and get certifications (currently on staff: master’s level degrees in administration and ministry management, and a certificate in conflict resolution) that enable them to hone that scriptural foundation with practical tips and principles. Eventually, those staff learn to operate Discovery Ministries using those principles so that we model what we teach. After they show competence at operating the whole ministry, they are ready to share those principles with other organizations.
