Sample Retreat Schedule
Day 1
- Check in at office after supper. Set up camp or move into lodges.
- Roast marshmallows over fire and have opening devotion about plans for the weekend.
- Play games to foster good fellowship until bed time.
Day 2
- Breakfast in lodge or over fire outside.
- Begin first in-camp activity (maybe group initiatives to get the group working together).
- Discovery Ministries' staff discusses activity (debriefing) and how it applies to Christian Life.
- Lunch in lodge or have (premade?) sandwiches.
- Begin second activity (maybe low or high ropes, or caving).
- Discovery Ministries' staff discusses what has been learned in the activity.
- Supper in lodge or put finishing touches on crockpot meal you prepared yourself ahead of time.
- Evening worship time at fireplace, fire pit or (if pre-arranged) at pool around a floating candle.
Day 3
- Breakfast
- Begin third activity (maybe canoeing for fun, or for more challenge, climbing or orienteering)
- Lunch prepacked sack lunches from lodge or ones you maked yourself.
- Continue activity, with debriefings as necessary along the way or at the end. Time of debriefing depends upon how the day goes!
- Return to camp to get cleaned up. Free-time (if available) until supper.
